Captchas : Identifying Humans and Machines

Captchas (short for Completely Automated Public Turing test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart) is a program that can generate and grade tests that: (a) Most humans can pass and (b) Current computer programs can't pass. You might have come across them when you signed up for online email services such as Yahoo or Hotmail or even when you performed a whois query on Network Solutions. They basically prevent automated script bots from signing-up for lots of accounts etc.
